We're looking for a reflective, inspiring and practice-focused Educational Leader to join our team at Only About Children McDowall. This is a chance to guide curriculum, support educators and help create rich learning environments where children's curiosity, confidence and individuality can flourish.

There's a trusted, established feel to working at McDowall. Set on Rode Road, directly across from McDowall State School and close to parks and buses, the single-level campus is practical, accessible and strongly connected to the local community. Inside, McDowall feels safe, inclusive and genuinely supportive. Children learn across six indoor spaces and three outdoor areas with a slide, climbing wall, sandpits, edible gardens, compost and worm farm. Families often describe the team as their village, with educators who support routines, transitions and confidence.

At Only About Children, everything starts with one simple truth: You're The Difference. As an Educational Leader, your impact reaches across rooms, routines and educators. The way you coach, challenge, guide and inspire practice helps children experience richer learning and helps educators feel more confident in their craft.

As Educational Leader, you'll be part of the Campus Leadership Team and hold stewardship of the campus educational philosophy, aligned with the OAC Grow Curriculum and HEART Principles. You'll inspire, support and coach educators, Room Leaders and teachers in curriculum decision-making, critical reflection and quality educational practice, while advocating for children's rights, voice and participation.

What you'll do:

  • Guide curriculum development across the campus, helping teams create meaningful and responsive learning programs.
  • Lead consistent implementation of the assessment and planning cycle across rooms.
  • Support educators with planning, documentation, intentional teaching and reflective practice.
  • Coach teams to connect children's interests, family input, observations and curriculum decision-making.
  • Champion children's voice, rights, agency and meaningful participation in learning.
  • Contribute to QIP, self-assessment, Assessment and Rating preparation and educational practice goals.
  • Build educator confidence through mentoring, professional inquiry, collaboration and role modelling.

What you'll bring:

  • Approved Early Childhood Teaching qualification preferred, or Diploma of Children's Services or higher.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a room or team in an ECEC setting.
  • Strong working knowledge of EYLF, NQF, Child Safe Standards, child safety and inclusive practice.
  • Strong understanding of curriculum theory, childhood education and care, and educational leadership.
  • Confidence mentoring educators and leading reflective conversations.
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, documentation and relationship-building skills.
  • Current Working with Children Check and relevant state-based child protection clearance.

What we offer:

  • Above award pay and recognition, including worker retention payment, Thank You and Excellence Awards, loyalty milestones and our Refer a Friend Program.
  • Specialist education support, including access to Education Specialists, professional learning pathways and OAC educational networks.
  • Professional development from day one, including Grow Curriculum training, Nurture Inspire Program and expert-led Soundbite sessions.
  • Career pathways into broader leadership, including Assistant Director, Campus Director and Support Office opportunities.
  • Education assistance and qualification support, including financial contributions and paid study leave where eligible.
  • Up to 50% childcare discount for eligible team members, plus paid parental leave and salary sacrifice options.
  • Wellbeing support, including two Wellbeing Days, additional leave purchase options and 24/7 TELUS Health EAP access.

A role where your leadership lifts educator confidence and children's learning outcomes.

We maintain a zero-tolerance approach to child abuse and harm, and we are committed to creating safe, nurturing and inclusive environments where every child has a voice, feels safe, and is valued and respected.
