We are seeking an experienced, practical, reliable Handyman Maintenance Worker to join our team. This is a subcontractor and full-time position where you will be responsible for providing high-quality maintenance and handyperson services to our residential and commercial clients. The work is varied – from fixing door handles and fences to patching walls and treating mould – so we need someone who's hands-on, uses common sense, and can work without needing to be micromanaged.
Key responsibilities
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues, and implement appropriate solutions
- Communicate with clients to understand their needs and provide excellent customer service
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all work completed
- General repairs (e.g. fixing door handles, reattaching anchors, repairing fences, problem solving)
- Patch up minor wall damage
- Small carpentry jobs
- Replace fixtures and fittings
- Spot checks and basic maintenance across properties
- Small jobs to full renovations
About you
- Several years of experience as a handyman or in a similar maintenance role
- Minimum 1-2 years of handyman or maintenance experience required
- Strong practical skills and knowledge across a range of trades, including carpentry and general handyman work
- Expertise in carpentry, painting, plastering alongside multiple trade skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to complete tasks efficiently and to a high standard
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients
- Commitment to safety and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation
- Must own tools and equipment
- Australian citizenship or permanent residency required
