Oaks Melbourne on Market Hotel are looking for skilled and experienced Cook to join our kitchen team on a casual basis. This role is essential in supporting the smooth operation of the kitchen, preparing and cooking a variety of dishes to a consistently high standard, and helping deliver an exceptional dining experience for guests.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Prepare ingredients and assist with the cooking and plating of meals.
- Cook a variety of dishes in line with menu standards and guest expectations.
- Ensure excellent presentation of meals before service.
- Maintain proper food storage, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Keep the kitchen clean, organised, and compliant with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) requirements.
- Support team members to ensure smooth daily kitchen operations.
Shift Details (subject to change):
- Rotating roster across Monday to Sunday
- Shifts scheduled across breakfast and dinner periods
Hourly Rates (excluding superannuation):
- Monday - Friday: $33.85 per hour
- Saturday: $40.62 per hour
- Sunday: $47.39 per hour
Qualifications
- Minimum 12 months experience as a cook or in a similar kitchen role.
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Positive, proactive attitude and genuine passion for cooking.
- Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
