Role impact & contribution
As the Solutions Architect, you will lead Treasury's architectural governance and solution design assurance, helping ensure technology initiatives align with Treasury's enterprise architecture framework, digital strategy and target technology landscape. You will review and guide solution designs across a diverse portfolio of business and technology initiatives, providing oversight throughout the project lifecycle. This includes identifying design risks, managing technical debt, assessing exceptions and ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, integrated, supportable and sustainable.
Working closely with business areas, project teams, vendors and technical stakeholders, you will develop architecture standards, reference architectures, solution designs, roadmaps and transition plans. You will also provide trusted advice to governance forums and senior leaders on technology investments, emerging technologies and Treasury's strategic technology direction. A key part of your contribution will be balancing timely delivery with strong architectural governance, cyber security, privacy and government compliance requirements. You will promote common platforms, shared services and reusable design patterns that reduce complexity, improve consistency and deliver lasting value for Treasury.
You will be joining our Financial Management and Services Group and working within Information Technology and Asset Services, IT Operations.

- Experience supporting Architecture Review Boards and other formal technology governance and assurance processes.
- Experience supporting digital transformation, cloud adoption and technology modernisation initiatives within a large and complex organisation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess solution options, identify risks and develop practical, sustainable outcomes.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
- The ability to build productive relationships, influence architectural decisions and work collaboratively with business leaders, project teams, technical specialists, vendors and service providers.
- The judgement and resilience to balance delivery priorities with architecture standards, cyber security, privacy, cost, integration and long-term sustainability.
- The ability to lead, coach and develop team members while creating a shared understanding of technology priorities and expected outcomes.
