  • Full-time temporary opportunity until June 2028, based in Wollongong or Rhodes, with flexible working arrangements.

About the opportunity

This is a greenfield opportunity and a newly created position within our Digital Delivery team. Working across a portfolio of mission critical operational systems, you will help translate complex business challenges into practical, user focused digital solutions that support emergency response across NSW.

The role brings together elements of product management, business analysis, service design and change management, providing an opportunity to contribute throughout the product lifecycle, from discovery and requirements gathering through to solution design, testing and implementation.

You will work closely with frontline volunteers, operational leaders, technical specialists and external delivery partners to understand user needs, challenge existing processes and help deliver meaningful improvements.

This is an opportunity to influence how technology supports emergency services while developing your skills within an evolving product management practice.

About you

To be successful in this role you will:

  • demonstrate experience in business analysis, product management, service design or a related discipline, with the ability to investigate business challenges, identify user needs and translate findings into clear, actionable requirements;

  • demonstrate strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with frontline users, senior stakeholders, technical teams and external delivery partners;
  • bring an analytical and improvement focused mindset, with the confidence to question existing processes, explore alternative approaches and recommend solutions that balance user experience, operational requirements and technical feasibility;
  • be organised, proactive and comfortable managing competing priorities in a dynamic environment, with a willingness to learn, embrace feedback and contribute to a developing product management function;
  • have experience working with digital products, agile delivery methodologies or human centred design practices (highly regarded). Experience in emergency management is not essential. We value transferable skills, fresh perspectives and a genuine interest in improving how people work.
