We are seeking an experienced and motivated mental health professional who is passionate about working with children, young people, and families and committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care. The successful candidate will bring advanced clinical skills in mental health assessment, risk assessment, treatment planning, and therapeutic intervention, along with demonstrated experience working within community or child and adolescent mental health settings. They will be confident working with complex presentations and able to provide clinical leadership, supervision, and mentorship to clinicians within a multidisciplinary team.

You will demonstrate a strong commitment to recovery-oriented and family-inclusive practice, recognising the importance of working collaboratively with consumers, carers, families, schools, and community partners. Strong communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills will be essential, as will the ability to contribute to service improvement, quality initiatives, and positive team culture. Most importantly, you will be committed to supporting children, young people, and families through challenging times, helping them access the right care at the right time and achieve the best possible outcomes.

Selection Criteria

  • Relevant qualification/registration in one of the disciplines, as noted in the essential criteria.
  • Describe a complex child or adolescent mental health presentation that you have assessed and managed. How did you apply evidence-based interventions, engage the young person and their family/carers in treatment, and achieve positive clinical outcomes?
  • Provide an example of how you have demonstrated clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary team. This may include supervision, mentoring, quality improvement activities, service development, or supporting colleagues to deliver high-quality mental health care. What was your contribution and what was the outcome?
