NOW Energy is partnering with an established Tier 3 commercial principal contractor to recruit an experienced Estimator for their Sydney team. With a strong pipeline and multiple projects currently underway, this is an opportunity to join a fast-paced commercial builder delivering projects across retail, commercial fit-out, refurbishment, live environments and new builds.
The Role
- Estimating commercial construction projects generally valued up to $10M
- Managing tenders from first principles through to final submission
- Preparing BOQs, detailed cost estimates and professional tender submissions
- Completing detailed take-offs and reviewing projects trade by trade
- Preparing subcontractor and supplier tender packages
- Reviewing, analysing and comparing subcontractor quotations
- Identifying scope gaps, design discrepancies, risks and opportunities
- Calculating preliminaries and assisting with construction methodology and sequencing
- Attending site inspections and assessing existing project conditions
- Liaising with subcontractors, suppliers, Project Managers and key stakeholders
- Participating in tender reviews and post-tender meetings
- Maintaining accurate tender documentation and estimating records
The position uses Buildsoft Cubit, Cubit Select and EstimateOne as part of the estimating and subcontractor tender process.
About You
- Previous estimating experience with a commercial principal/head contractor
- Proven experience tendering commercial projects up to approximately $10M
- Strong exposure to commercial fit-out and refurbishment
- Retail construction experience
- Experience working on projects within live operational environments
- Exposure to commercial new-build projects
- Strong subcontractor and supplier knowledge
- Experience preparing scopes, BOQs, take-offs and trade comparisons
- Good understanding of construction methodology, sequencing and contractual requirements
- Experience with Cubit, Cubit Select and EstimateOne highly regarded
- The ability to manage multiple tenders and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
