A major Australian enterprise is looking for an experienced AI leader to set up and run its AI enablement program across Cyber Security and Service Operations. This is a hands-on contract for someone who has already moved AI use cases out of the lab and into live security and operational environments, and who can bring teams along for the journey.
You will report into senior cyber leadership and work across the SOC, service operations, enterprise AI and the wider technology team.
The Role
- Define and lead the AI enablement strategy and roadmap for Cyber Security and Service Operations, aligned to business, cyber and enterprise AI objectives.
- Find, assess and prioritise AI opportunities that improve threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management and service operations.
- Take initiatives from proof of concept into production, integrating with existing security and operational platforms and tracking measurable business outcomes.
- Establish AI governance, risk management and responsible AI practices that let the business move quickly and stay safe.
- Build AI skills and confidence across Cyber, SOC and Service Operations through training, change management and operating model improvements, so AI becomes part of everyday ways of working.
About You
- A track record of delivering AI or automation into production in a security operations or service management setting, not just strategy and slideware.
- Strong understanding of AI risk and governance (for example NIST AI RMF, ISO 42001 or similar).
- Experience with security and operational tooling such as SIEM, SOAR and ITSM platforms.
- Confident engaging senior stakeholders and influencing teams you do not directly manage.
- Experience leading change and capability uplift, ideally in a large regulated organisation.
- Comfortable working at pace in a contract environment.
The Details
Contract, immediate start, initial term through to mid 2027 & extension likely.
