The Compliance Officer keeps Novatti’s day-to-day compliance running, as the operational engine of the Risk & Compliance team.

Reporting to the Head of Risk and Compliance and working closely with the Senior Compliance Officer, you deliver the core programme of work: customer due diligence, onboarding, chargebacks, IFTI reporting, and AML/CTF and fraud monitoring.

You’ll be hands‑on with the team’s new automation, reviewing and refining what it produces rather than re-keying it, and you provide the cover that keeps core tasks resilient.

You escape the complex and higher‑risk matters to the Senior Compliance Officer, with senior support close by.

It’s a role to learn fast and grow in: you bring a solid KYC/AML grounding, an eye for detail, and a genuine appetite to work alongside AI tooling.

  • Operational compliance (core)
  • Run OCDD and CDD remediation and new‑business KYC, collecting, verifying and assessing customer information to defined standards.
  • Prepare and lodge IFTI reporting to AUSTRAC, and support SMR preparation.
  • Carry out AML/CTF, sanctions and PEP screening, plus day‑to‑day transaction and fraud monitoring, triaging alerts and escalating genuine risks.
  • Manage chargebacks and disputes end to end, in line with Visa and Mastercard scheme rules.
  • Regulatory, scheme and privacy support
  • Support the AFSL and CAR programme, maintaining records and helping with authorisations, monitoring and reporting.
  • Help keep us aligned to card‑scheme rules, and assist with scheme and regulatory reporting.
  • Support privacy and data obligations (Privacy Act, GDPR), and data‑breach response as directed.
  • Keep accurate records and audit trails across the group’s entities and geographies.
  • AI and automation uplift
  • Use the team’s automated OCDD/CDD, chargeback, IFTI and onboarding workflows day to day, reviewing and validating what the tooling produces rather than re-keying it.
  • Flag exceptions, false positives and edge cases so the automation keeps getting better.
  • Take part in hands‑on training and upskilling as the role grows, and help embed the new ways of working.
  • Working with the team
  • Escalate complex, higher‑risk or novel matters to the Senior Compliance Officer or Head of R&C.
  • Provide operational cover across core tasks to reduce single points of failure in the team.
  • Keep clear, open communication with the team and the wider business.
  • What success looks like at Novatti
