Join us and you'll be part of an organisation committed to promoting your personal wellbeing, sustainable growth, leading the community, protecting our environment and creating a great future for the Northern Beaches.

Council is seeking to establish a pool of casual staff to provide support with general landscape maintenance and ad hoc work associated with funeral bookings and burials. Casual staff may be engaged on a regular basis for one to two days per week, with additional days available during periods of team leave.

The key focus areas of this role include:

  • Providing compassionate, respectful and professional assistance to families in relation to their cemetery needs, including plot selection, burial arrangements and monument installation.
  • Maintaining a strong commitment to workplace health and safety by working reliably and responsibly to protect the wellbeing of the public, colleagues and contractors.
  • Developing the skills and knowledge required to undertake cemetery operations, including learning to safely operate relevant plant and equipment such as a backhoe, and supporting the team across a range of operational tasks.

About you:

We're looking for a self-motivated labourer, with a 'customer first' attitude, to join our Cemetery team. You'll bring empathy, a healthy motivation to learn, and a strong customer service ethos to a team passionate about making a difference to our community.

  • Ability to undertake the physical requirements of the role.
  • Basic digital literacy and the ability to confidently use modern smart devices, including smartphones and tablets.
