Big Chief Hire in Ormeau is seeking someone to fill a hands-on role where you’ll spend the majority of your time servicing and repairing earthmoving and heavy machinery at our workshop in Ormeau QLD.
What You Will Do:
- Service, maintain, and repair plant and machinery, including excavators, loaders, bulldozers, trucks and other heavy equipment
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure machinery meets operational standards
- Maintain accurate service records and document repairs thoroughly
- Work independently while supporting the Big Chief team
- Work professionally with our client ensuring they receive professional service delivery at all times
What You Will Bring:
- Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology, Plant & Machinery, or similar qualification
- 1–3+ years of hands‑on experience with heavy machinery or field service work
- Strong problem‑solving skills and mechanical aptitude
- Valid driver’s licence (HR licence or higher preferred)
- Ability to work independently, travel to sites, and thrive in a field‑based environment
- Safety‑first mindset with commitment to WHS compliance
