Finance Manager - Family office, 0.8 EFT

This opportunity suits a CPA/CA who wants to bring their corporate/chartered experience to an entrepreneurial, casual environment.

Guidelines and expectations will be set, then you will be empowered to use your initiative and experience to add value across the entire finance function.

Working directly with two entrepreneurial owners, you will support interests spanning property development and management, inspection services, health and emerging ventures - they are always exploring!

This is a solo role; you will take responsibility for accounts and cash flow while helping the owners assess opportunities and plan next steps.

The position suits someone who enjoys variety and is comfortable moving between detailed accounting and practical commercial discussions.

Key responsibilities will include

  • Managing transactional finance and a small payroll across entities
  • Preparing management accounts, balance sheet recs and reports
  • Developing budgets, forecasts, financial models and scenario analysis
  • Assessing new opportunities and providing advice to the Directors
  • Coordinating tax and statutory reporting with external accountants, alongside insurance and administration
  • Improving reporting and processes while progressively building internal finance capability (taking responsibility off the advisors)!

Xero experience would be an advantage.

The position is approximately four days or 30 hours per week over five days, balancing between the Collins Street office and home.

Remuneration is based on a full time equivalent package of circa $150k - $160k including superannuation, paid pro rata for the agreed hours.
