When you join Niterra, you become part of a collaborative, vibrant, and energetic team culture based at our Mentone head office. We pride ourselves on fostering innovation, supporting career progression, and maintaining a high-performance environment driven to succeed.
The Role
If you have a genuine passion for product management, commercial strategy, and “all things automotive,” this is your chance to make a lasting impact.
As a Product Manager, you will take end-to-end ownership of assigned categories—championing existing lines, identifying market opportunities, and introducing new, innovative product ranges. Working at the intersection of suppliers, customers, and cross-functional teams, you will combine commercial acumen with hands‑on technical execution to drive category profitability, market penetration, and brand growth across Australia and New Zealand.
Key Responsibilities
- OE Research & Vehicle Parc Analysis: Conduct in-depth Original Equipment (OE) research, benchmarking, and Australian/NZ Car Parc analysis to identify new vehicle applications, supersessions, and emerging technology shifts. Map OE fitments against current product lines to drive timely aftermarket gap-fill opportunities.
- Category & Lifecycle Strategy: Lead the end-to-end lifecycle management of assigned product ranges from concept, supplier sourcing, and market launch through to range optimisation, rationalisation, and end-of-life.
- Commercial Growth & Profitability: Execute category plans that hit revenue, margin, and market-share targets. Lead sales forecasting, demand planning, and performance analysis for both established lines and new introductions.
- Pricing & Competitor Analysis: Regularly monitor competitor movements, supply chain shifts, and market trends to deliver strategic recommendations on competitive pricing models and commercial positioning.
- Sourcing & Supplier Collaboration: Partner with global suppliers and manufacturing partners to source innovative components, negotiate specifications, and ensure product quality, packaging, and compliance standards are rigorously upheld.
- Customer & Market Engagement: Build strong relationships with key accounts, distributors, and industry partners. Proactively gather voice‑of‑customer feedback and travel when required to assess market trends firsthand.
- Cross-Functional Execution: Collaborate seamlessly with Sales, Marketing, and Operations to design targeted go‑to‑market strategies, sales collateral, and promotional campaigns that maximise market visibility.
- Data Integrity & Catalogue Management: Oversee internal databases and customer e‑Catalogues to ensure product data, applications, technical specifications, and cross‑references remain precise and up to date.
- Technical Support & Training: Serve as a subject‑matter expert for your categories, delivering product training sessions, technical bulletins, and tier‑two product support to customer service, sales teams, and external clients.
What we're looking for
You are a commercially minded, analytical Product Manager who thrives in a collaborative, fast‑paced technical environment. You balance high‑level business strategy with attention to detail and love rolling up your sleeves to solve problems.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Product Manager managing product lifecycles, range rationalisation, and category performance.
- Demonstrated commercial acumen with practical experience in sales forecasting, pricing strategy, margin management, and data‑driven decision‑making.
- Experience sourcing products, managing supplier relationships, and conducting commercial negotiations.
- Excellent relationship‑building, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage internal teams, suppliers, and major trade customers effectively.
- Strong project management skills, with solid knowledge of quality assurance, technical compliance, and data governance.
- A strong interest in or prior experience within automotive, engineering, or related technical products (strongly preferred).
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a relevant trade/technical background is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel for analytical modelling) and enterprise ERP/PIM systems.
- Willingness to travel periodically to engage with key stakeholders and field partners – both interstate and overseas.
What we offer
- Competitive Package: Attractive salary package reflective of your experience and market standard, which includes a fully maintained vehicle (Toyota Landcruiser Prado)
- Career Development: Genuine opportunities for progression and capability building within a respected, growing global industry leader.
- Product Leadership: Real autonomy to influence category directions, introduce new lines, and see your products in action across the market.
- Collaborative Culture: Work alongside a supportive, energetic team in modern facilities at our Mentone head office.
