New Tricks is a boutique family producer, specialising in the creation of high-quality wines made from Italian and Spanish varieties of grapes grown on our estate in the heart of the high-altitude Granite Belt region.This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a team working in a fast-growing winery. The role will be busy but fun and while some winery experience is highly desired hands-on training will be provided. The majority of work will be conducted during business hours however, some night and weekend work may be required.
Cellar Hand tasks
- Receiving fruit and coordinating storage logistics.
- Operating winery equipment including crusher/de-stemmer, press and cleaning/sterilising gear.
- Operating pumps for wine and juice transfers, racking and barrel filling/emptying.
- Participating in juice inoculation and other tank additions.
- Monitoring fermentations and assisting with pump overs/plunging.
- Cleaning winery and cleaning/sterilising equipment/tanks.
- Assisting with laboratory operations including chemical analysis, preparation of standard solutions and data recording.
- Undertaking support work in the vineyard as required.
Qualifications and experience
- Experience in winery operations,particularly in the use of pumps and other winemaking equipment, is desired.
- Experience with low level laboratory work or some scientific training would be beneficial.
- A forklift licence would be beneficial.
- A driver’s license and permission to work in Australia is necessary.

- Passionate about the process of making wine and eager to learn,thushappy to take instruction and accept guidance.
- Able and prepared to carry out physical work.
- Able and happy to work independently or as part of a team.
- Positive can-do attitude with good communication skills and a sense of humour.
- Reliable and responsible with high attention to detail.
- Applicants must have Australian citizenship/residency or a valid existing Australian work visa.
