Oral Health Therapist / Hygienist 2-3 days per week

New Lambton Family Dental - New Lambton NSW

Senior Dental Hygienist / Oral Health Therapist

Tuesdays & Thursdays (Option to add Wednesdays) | Minimum 5 Years' Experience

After more than six wonderful years with New Lambton Family Dental, our much-loved hygienist with over 30+ years of dental experience is retiring, and we’re looking for an experienced clinician to take over the care of her established patients.

This is a senior position requiring a minimum of five years’ clinical experience in Australian private dental practice. We’re seeking a confident clinician who can manage an established patient book, deliver exceptional care and bring strong clinical judgement to our team.

With patient books filled months in advance, a DA by your side and the opportunity to increase days, you’ll have a fantastic foundation to settle into your new role.

About the role

  • Tuesdays and Thursdays (Availability to increase to 3 days by adding Wednesdays)

  • An established patient base, with appointments booked months in advance.

  • A dedicated dental assistant working alongside you.

  • Competitive hourly rate.

  • Opportunity to increase days.

Supported handover with our retiring hygienist

Our clinicians work autonomously while collaborating closely as a team. For someone available to start around mid-December, we can offer a two-day handover working alongside our retiring hygienist. This provides an opportunity to meet patients and learn our systems and clinical routines before independently taking over her established patient books.

Opportunity for OHTs to utilise their full scope

While our established patient books are currently hygiene-focused, we welcome applications from experienced Oral Health Therapists who are keen to utilise their full scope of practice. We’re looking to expand the range of care provided within this role, with opportunities to take on treatment suited to your qualifications, experience and clinical confidence.

Our principal dentist and practice owner, Maria, can provide mentoring and clinical support for experienced OHTs looking to broaden the treatments they provide within their scope.

About the practice

We’re a growing general dental practice with a well-trained team and established systems that help our days run smoothly and keep patient care at the centre of what we do.

Located in the heart of New Lambton, we’re part of a vibrant local community, surrounded by cafés, shops and essential services.

Our practice offers:

  • A modern, three-chair practice with advanced dental technology.

  • A patient comfort menu to help make appointments a more relaxed experience.

  • Support and guidance from our principal dentist and fellow hygienist.

  • A team that supports one another and celebrates each other’s wins.

  • Fortnightly staff meetings.

  • Monthly clinician KPI check-ins to review progress and discuss support.

  • Quarterly group practitioner meetings.

Our technology

  • D4W practice management software.

  • EMS AIRFLOW system.

  • Intraoral camera.

  • CEREC Primescan and milling machine.

  • OPG machine.

  • Rotary endodontic equipment.

  • Zoom whitening.

  • Podium communication platform.

  • Sonos sound system to keep the good vibes going!
