Key Responsibilities
- Steel Processing: Accurately cut and bend reinforcing steel bars in accordance with client schedules and production orders.
- Machinery Operation: Operate automated and manual rebar cutting and bending equipment safely.
- Loading & Dispatch: Load and unload steel bar products onto trucks and racks using overhead cranes and material-handling equipment.
- Inventory & Racking: Organise stock, apply tags, bundle goods, and assist with yard dispatch duties.
- Quality Control: Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of finished steel bars to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Safety & Housekeeping: Follow all WHS policies, utilise appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and maintain a clean and organised work environment.
- Key Skills & Requirements
- Experience: Previous experience as a machine operator, production worker, or labourer within the steel, metal fabrication, or construction sector is desirable.
- Licensing: Current Australian Forklift (LF) ticket and/or Overhead Crane high-risk licence is highly advantageous (training can be provided for suitable candidates).
- Physical Fitness: Ability to perform manual handling of heavy loads and work comfortably within an industrial manufacturing setting.
- Reliability: Strong work ethic, punctuality, and a team-oriented approach.
