Reporting to the Manager, Asset Maintenance and Preservation, you will coordinate SeaReady consortium partners and contractors from initial inspection and quotation through to undocking and handover. You will manage contractor scopes, budgets and schedules, with a strong focus on safety, compliance and meeting docking and redelivery dates.
What's on offer

- Leadership role with direct impact on business growth and operational excellence
- Work closely with SeaReady consortium partners across mechanical, electrical and protective coating services.
- Diverse role covering project management, estimating, commercial coordination and ship repair operations

What you'll be responsible for
Operational Management
- Inspect commercial ships, review specifications and drawings, agree repair scopes with clients, and prepare estimates and quotations with SeaReady consortium partners covering labour, materials, plant, docking costs and margin.
- Develop and control integrated project schedules, contractor resources and procurement; coordinate docking, undocking and redelivery with clients, facility operators, dockmasters and ships’ masters.
- Manage contractor scopes, work sequencing, daily performance, budgets, commitments, margin, contract notices, variations and claims, ensuring repairs meet agreed safety, quality and schedule requirements. Coordinate inspections, testing, defect close-out and handover with classification societies and clients.
Safety & Compliance Leadership

- Coordinate SIMOPS, permit-to-work activities, critical works and isolations with consortium partners, contractors, ship crews, facility representatives and authorised permit personnel.
- Conduct safety inspections and coordinate HSEQ audits, stop unsafe work where required, and ensure corrective actions are completed.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Keep clients and SeaReady consortium partners informed of scope, progress, costs, risks and delivery dates.
- Lead and develop supervisors and project personnel, including the Project Engineer, while coordinating facility operators, dockmasters, contractors, suppliers and support teams.
What you'll need to be successful
- Australian-recognised trade or tertiary qualification and 10+ years’ experience managing commercial ship repair, shipyard or dry-docking projects, preferably involving tugs, offshore vessels or similar ships.

- Experience leading multi-trade teams, supported by strong communication, reporting and document-control skills. Australian driver’s licence and flexibility for docking hours required.
Personal Attributes
- Safety-focused, accountable and commercially aware, with practical leadership, clear communication and attention to quality.
- Able to manage competing priorities, solve problems and escal risks early in deadline-driven docking environments.
