This is a hands-on senior carpentry position suited to someone who is confident in their trade and comfortable taking responsibility on site. You'll be working alongside the site team on a variety of residential projects, helping maintain high standards of workmanship while leading and mentoring apprentices and carpenters.
Key responsibilities:
- Carrying out all aspects of residential carpentry, from structural framing through to detailed finishing work
- Reading and interpreting architectural plans and construction documentation
- Taking ownership of allocated work and ensuring it's completed efficiently and to a high standard
- Leading and mentoring apprentices and other carpenters, and passing on your knowledge
- Working closely with site supervisors and other trades to keep projects progressing
- Identifying and resolving issues on site with a proactive, solutions-focused approach
- Maintaining a safe, organised and professional work environment
About you:
- Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent trade qualification
- Solid experience in residential construction, particularly custom homes and renovations
- Strong technical skills and attention to detail
- Confidence reading plans and working independently
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills, and the ability to lead by example
- Good communication skills and a practical approach to problem-solving
- A strong work ethic, reliability and a team-first attitude
- Current White Card, driver's licence, reliable transport and own tools
