We are looking for a passionate and hands-on Food Technologist to join Nature One Dairy team in Carrum Downs. This is an exciting opportunity for a food science professional with 3-5 years of industry experience, preferably within dairy, nutritional products or food manufacturing, to contribute to the development and improvement of innovative products.
Working closely with the Product Development, Production, QA and Technical teams, you will be involved in the end-to-end product development process, from initial concept and formulation through to laboratory trials, production trials, scale-up and commercial launch.
This role will suit someone who enjoys being hands-on, solving technical challenges and working collaboratively to develop high-quality products that meet customer expectations, food safety requirements and applicable regulatory standards.
You will also contribute to the improvement of existing products and processes, with opportunities to identify ways to improve product quality, optimise formulations, increase efficiency and achieve cost savings.
Key responsibilities
Manage assigned New Product Development (NPD) projects, from concept and formulation through to trials, scale-up and commercial launch.
Develop and improve product formulations, processes and specifications to optimise quality, cost and efficiency.
Conduct laboratory and production trials and support the successful scale-up of new and existing products.
Work closely with Production, QA, Operations, suppliers and customers to resolve technical issues and deliver projects.
Ensure products, formulations, ingredients and packaging meet relevant food safety, legal, regulatory and customer requirements.
Support product registrations and technical documentation for international markets, including preparation of regulatory dossiers.
Source and evaluate raw materials and suppliers based on quality, technical suitability and cost.
Maintain accurate product development, formulation, specification and technical documentation.
About you
Degree qualified in Food Technology, Food Science, Nutrition or a related discipline.
3-5 years' experience in food technology, product development, dairy, nutritional products or food manufacturing.
Practical experience in product formulation, NPD, laboratory work and production trials.
Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, food safety and relevant food legislation.
Understanding of food manufacturing, quality control and production processes.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and project management skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with Production, QA, Operations, suppliers and customers.
Experience with dairy, nutritional powders or fortified foods will be highly regarded.
Fluency in Mandarin and experience with international markets or product registrations will be highly regarded.
