To attract the right officer, this position will be paid at 6% above the applicable Security Services Industry Award rate.

About the Role

As the Lead Security Officer, you will maintain a visible and professional security presence, support day-to-day site operations, respond to incidents and help ensure a safe and welcoming environment for customers, retailers, contractors and centre staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Take the lead in the day-to-day delivery of security services across the retail centre.
- Work closely with the Centre Management team to support operational requirements and successful service delivery.
- Build positive working relationships with retailers, contractors, customers and other key stakeholders.
- Patrol and monitor the centre to identify and prevent potential security and safety risks.
- Respond promptly and professionally to alarms, incidents, emergencies and requests for assistance.
- Support the management of antisocial behaviour, theft-related incidents and other retail security matters.
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure the centre remains safe, secure and well maintained.
- Complete accurate incident reports, activity logs, handovers and other required documentation.
- Identify emerging risks or operational concerns and promptly elevate them to Centre Management and Nationwide management.
- Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining a strong and professional security presence.
- Support and guide other security officers to ensure consistent service standards.
- Follow all site procedures, work health and safety requirements and company policies.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous security experience within a retail or shopping centre environment.
- The confidence and capability to take the lead during shifts and support other officers.
- Strong customer service and stakeholder-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work closely and professionally with the Centre Management team.
- The ability to remain calm, make sound decisions and take appropriate action under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and accurate incident-reporting skills.
- A proactive approach to identifying and resolving security and operational concerns.
- A current NSW Security Licence.
- A current First Aid Certificate.
- A strong commitment to professionalism, teamwork and service excellence.
