MyBuild Residential is a proudly locally owned and operated Cairns builder, and we’re growing. We’re looking for an experienced Residential Estimator who combines practical construction knowledge with a friendly, confident approach to customers.
You’ll work across new builds, custom homes, investment homes and renovation, helping customers understand their options and preparing accurate estimates that set each project up for success.

What you’ll do
Based in our Cairns office, with customer meetings and regular site visits, you’ll:
Meet with customers to understand their ideas, requirements and budgets.
Prepare detailed estimates and quantity take-offs from plans and specifications.
Obtain and compare supplier and subcontractor quotes, making sure the scope is covered.
Explain pricing, inclusions, exclusions and practical cost-saving options clearly.
Assess renovation works on site and identify items that need further investigation or clarification.
Prepare variation costings, maintain current pricing records and assist with contract documentation.
Work closely with our Project Managers and Construction Manager to hand over clear scopes, budgets and allowances.
What you’ll bring
You’re someone who builds rapport easily, listens carefully and follows through. You’re comfortable discussing costs with customers and asking the right questions to understand what matters to them.
You’ll also need:
Residential estimating experience and a practical background in construction.
Strong knowledge of residential building methods, materials and costs.
Confidence reading architectural plans, engineering drawings and specifications.
Experience using estimating software.
Attention to detail, strong numerical skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
Experience estimating renovations and knowledge of building conditions in Far North Queensland will be highly regarded.
