About The Role
This well established public practice firm based in Rockhampton is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their Business Services and Tax team. This role is focused purely on the work itself, with no staff management responsibilities. Client contact is available if you enjoy it, or you can focus solely on the technical side if you prefer. The role is based in Rockhampton; however, full remote work will be considered for the right candidate living in regional Queensland.
What You Will Be Doing
- Preparing financial statements and tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships
- Managing a varied portfolio of business services and tax compliance work
- Preparing BAS, IAS and FBT returns
- Assisting with tax planning and advisory work
- Liaising with clients and the ATO where required (optional, depending on your preference)
- Working closely with the Partners on more complex matters
What We Are Looking For
- Degree qualified with CA or CPA completed or progressing
- Minimum 7 years' experience in an Australian public practice accounting firm
- Strong technical knowledge across all entity types
- Ability to work autonomously and manage your own workload
- Experience with Xero, MYOB or similar practice software
- Based in Rockhampton or regional Queensland
- 2 days WFH & flexible hours
- No staff management, just focus on the work
