Supervisor – Business Services in Brisbane

This established Brisbane accounting firm is looking for a Supervisor to join its business services team, with a long record of promoting from within and a leadership group that treats developing managers as part of the job rather than an afterthought.

THE ROLE:

• Reporting to a Manager and working closely with a Partner, you will oversee a small team and a portfolio of clients, shifting your focus from preparing work to reviewing it.
• Review financial statements and tax returns prepared by Seniors and Intermediates
• Coach and develop junior team members through regular feedback
• Plan workloads and keep client deliverables on track across lodgement deadlines
• Handle technical queries and complex client matters before they reach the Manager
• Build relationships with clients and act as a day to day contact
• Contribute to tax planning conversations and improvements to team processes

THE INDIVIDUAL:

• CA or CPA qualified, or currently working towards it
• Solid public practice experience, ideally at Senior Accountant level or above
• Strong technical knowledge across tax compliance and financial reporting for a range of entities
• Some experience guiding or reviewing the work of others, or a genuine appetite to learn
• Clear, confident communicator who is comfortable giving feedback
• Organised, with the ability to juggle priorities and deadlines
