# Associate Principal Viola Opera Australia•Sydney, Australia Apply / Visit Website Contact About this opportunity Opera Australia is inviting expressions of interest for the permanent position of Associate Principal Viola in their orchestra, which is based at the Sydney Opera House.
The position offers a salary starting from A$108,995, with a total package of A$124,365 per year, including superannuation and allowances.

To apply, candidates must complete an application form and submit a current CV along with an audio-visual recording of a required concerto and orchestral excerpts by the deadline.
The required pieces include either the Stamitz Concerto in D or the Hoffmeister Concerto in D, along with three orchestral excerpts from works by Delibes, Berg, and Strauss.
After the closing date, submissions will be reviewed, and a select few may be invited to Sydney for a pre-trial, which involves rehearsing and performing an opera and a recital over approximately three weeks in June-July 2027.
