People & Culture Manager Sydney, NSW Property & Construction | Permanent Full-Time

An opportunity for an experienced HR professional to join an established, privately owned business operating within the property and construction sector.

This is a varied, hands-on role offering the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership, support day-to-day people operations and contribute to the ongoing development of HR practices across the business.

We're looking for someone who enjoys being involved in the operational side of HR, brings a practical and commercially minded approach, and has the confidence to build strong working relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

The opportunity could suit an experienced Senior HR Advisor or HR Business Partner looking to take the next step, or an existing HR Manager who enjoys a broad, hands-on generalist role.

The Role

Working closely with senior management, you'll be involved in a broad range of HR activities, including:

  • Providing practical, commercially focused HR advice and support to managers and employees.
  • Managing employee relations matters, including performance management, grievances and workplace investigations.
  • Supporting recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement and retention initiatives.
  • Advising managers on employment legislation, workplace policies and HR best practices.
  • Supporting workforce planning and day-to-day people requirements across the business.
  • Reviewing and improving HR processes, policies and procedures.
  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders and providing clear, considered advice on people-related matters.
  • Supporting broader People & Culture initiatives as required.

About You

We're looking for a capable HR generalist who is confident in their knowledge, takes initiative and enjoys working in a commercially focused environment. Ideally, you'll bring:

  • Previous experience in a Senior HR Advisor, HR Business Partner, HR Manager or similar generalist HR role.
  • Strong employee relations experience and a sound understanding of Australian employment legislation.
  • Experience within property, construction, engineering or a similarly operational, commercially driven industry.
  • The confidence to work closely with senior stakeholders and provide practical advice, including when navigating complex or sensitive matters.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt your communication style to different personalities and situations.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach, with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
  • Sound judgement, professionalism and a willingness to get involved in the day-to-day requirements of the business.

What's on Offer?

This is an opportunity to join an established business where you'll gain exposure to a broad range of HR matters and work closely with key decision-makers.

The role offers variety, autonomy and the chance to make a meaningful contribution to the day-to-day operations of the business.

It's particularly well suited to someone who enjoys a hands-on HR role, values clear communication and takes pride in building strong working relationships and delivering practical outcomes.
