Mornington Peninsula Dental Clinic has been looking after local families since the 1970s, and we have been in our purpose-built, nine-chair clinic on Tanti Avenue since 2011. Right now we are in an exciting stage of growth. We are building better systems, investing in our people and setting clear standards, all with one aim in mind: we want to be the dental practice Peninsula locals trust most, and a place our team is proud to work.

About the role:

This role is for a trainee dental assistant who already has some real experience behind them. Maybe you have been assisting while you study, or you have started your Certificate III in Dental Assisting and need the right practice to help you complete it. You already know your way around a surgery, and now you want a team that will help you build on what you know.

We will support you through your Certificate III, and our experienced dental assistant trainers will work alongside you as you go. You will keep learning every day, with people around you who want to see you do well.

What your day will look like:

  • Assisting our dentists chairside across a wide range of general dentistry
  • Setting up surgeries and turning them around between patients
  • Infection control and sterilisation to a high standard
  • Helping patients feel comfortable, informed and at ease
  • Keeping clear and accurate clinical notes
  • Helping with stock and supplies
  • Working closely with reception to keep the day running smoothly

What we are looking for:

  • Chairside experience as a dental assistant
  • Currently studying, or ready to start, your Certificate III in Dental Assisting
  • A warm, caring nature and a real interest in looking after people
  • An eye for detail and pride in getting things right
  • Someone the team can count on
  • Good communication skills, with patients and with each other
  • A willingness to keep learning and growing

What we offer:

  • Support to complete your Certificate III in Dental Assisting
  • Hands-on training and mentoring from our experienced dental assistant trainers
  • Flexible hours. We are open Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm, and Saturdays from 8am to 3pm, and we are happy to talk about part-time and job-share arrangements that suit your life
  • Dedicated sterilisation support
  • A modern, purpose-built nine-chair clinic
  • A leadership team that listens and backs you
