About the company
Are you an experienced Loss Adjuster with a background in construction, property and contract-related claims? This is an opportunity to join an established insurance specialist where you can utilise your technical expertise across a diverse portfolio of complex property, construction and contractual losses. Working across a varied range of assignments, you will take ownership of claims from initial investigation through to resolution, providing technical assessments and recommendations to insurers and other key stakeholders. Your role
- Manage a portfolio of construction, property and contract-related claims from initial instruction through to final resolution.
- Investigate and assess complex building damage, construction defects, contract disputes and associated losses.
- Undertake detailed site inspections and investigations to establish the cause, extent and circumstances of loss.
- Review construction contracts, building agreements, scopes of work, variations and contractual obligations.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports, scopes of repair, cost assessments and recommendations for insurers.
- Assess construction methodologies, rectification costs, project delays and potential contractual liabilities.
- Liaise with builders, contractors, engineers, architects, solicitors, insurers and other technical specialists.
- Investigate disputed claims, identifying liability considerations and providing sound technical advice.
- Monitor rectification works, project costs and timeframes to ensure appropriate claim outcomes.
- Interpret relevant policy wordings and contractual documentation when assessing coverage and exposure.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders while delivering high-quality technical outcomes.
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience in Loss Adjusting, ideally specialising in construction, property or contract-related claims.
- Strong understanding of construction practices, building methodologies, defects, damage assessment and rectification processes.
- Experience reviewing and interpreting building contracts, construction agreements, variations and scopes of work.
- Knowledge of construction costs, project delivery and contractual responsibilities.
- Strong investigative, analytical and technical report-writing capabilities.
- The ability to manage complex assignments independently and provide commercially sound recommendations.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- A practical, solutions-focused approach to resolving technically challenging claims.
