About the role
An early-career role for someone with a year or two of experience who wants to grow fast. You will write and tune the detections that find attackers in Moraph and client environments.
What you’ll do
- Write detection rules mapped to MITRE ATT&CK
- Test detections against simulated attacks
- Cut false positives with the SOC
- Deliver well-scoped work with guidance from senior colleagues, and learn the delivery and evidence standards our regulated clients expect
What you’ll bring
- 1–2 years of experience in detection engineering or threat hunting (internships and placements count)
- Scripting
- Eagerness to learn how software is built and run where failure means a regulatory breach or a patient-safety incident
Nice to have
- Experience with SIEM query languages
Location and working arrangement
This role is hybrid, based in Melbourne. Moraph has no office of its own in Melbourne: office days are at a coworking space Moraph provides there. You’ll need to be able to work from Melbourne on a regular basis, and your team agrees its own rhythm for being together.
The application asks whether you are authorized to work in Australia or will need visa sponsorship. Sponsorship depends on the role and the country; your recruiter will be clear about what is possible before you invest time in interviews.
Compensation
A$82,500 – A$95,000 per year. Base salary, plus superannuation.
Where you land in the range depends on your experience and skills, not on how well you negotiate. Any offer we make is within this range.
