The Role
- Manage a diverse caseload of administrative law and litigation matters for Commonwealth Government agencies.
- Advise on merits review, judicial review, and administrative law issues.
- Prepare litigation strategies, prospects advice, submissions, evidence, and court documents.
- Appear as a solicitor advocate in the Administrative Review Tribunal and Federal Circuit Court where appropriate.
- Brief and instruct Counsel in complex proceedings.
- Build strong relationships with government clients while delivering practical and commercially focused legal advice.
- Collaborate with lawyers across a national government practice on significant and complex matters.
Ideal Candidate
- Experience in administrative law, public law, or litigation, preferably acting for government or government-related clients.
- Strong drafting, advocacy, and legal research skills.
- An interest in appearing before Courts and Tribunals as a solicitor advocate.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple matters effectively.
- A collaborative approach and genuine interest in developing a long-term career in government litigation.
