About Us: Montessori Care is a trusted provider of in-home aged care and NDIS disability support services, supporting people who want to live safely, independently and meaningfully in their own homes. Inspired by the Montessori philosophy, we work with families seeking peace of mind, building caring relationships based on respect, dignity and trust. We are person-centred, always. People are at the core of what we do every single day. Whether it’s our clients, their families or our own staff, our vision is to promote autonomy, dignity and personal growth, helping every individual live a life they choose.
About the role: We are looking for an experienced High Intensity Disability Support Worker to join a stable, coordinated care team supporting an NDIS participant in the Wattle Grove area. The role involves personal care and high-intensity clinical supports, so current training and experience in complex care is essential. This role offers a structured roster within a well-managed, supportive team. You’ll work closely with the participant’s family, keeping them informed and following their guidance on routines and preferences. Due to the intimate personal care involved, and in line with participant choice and control, this role is open to female applicants only.
About You: To be successful in the role, you’ll need:
- NSW Driver’s Licence and your own vehicle with comprehensive insurance
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working With Children Check, Police Check, First Aid & CPR Certificate
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability/Ageing/Home & Community) or equivalent (highly regarded)
- Demonstrated 2+ years’ experience in high-intensity/complex care disability supports (in-home, SIL, hospital discharge or similar)
- Experience supporting children or young people with complex needs (highly regarded)
- A warm, friendly and engaging nature, with the ability to build connection through conversation, play and non-verbal communication
- A calm, patient approach and comfort following the family’s lead and established care routines
- Manual Handling and Behaviour Support training
Please note: this is not a general support worker position. We require applicants with hands-on, demonstrated HIDPA (High Intensity Daily Personal Activities) experience across at least 3 of the following:
- Tracheostomy care (care and observation, not tube changes)
- Suctioning (tracheal, oral and nasal)
- Severe dysphagia and mealtime management (soft and pureed diets)
- Medication assistance
- Ceiling hoists and safe manual handling
Benefits and Perks:
- A generous $100 joining bonus upon completing your first 50 hours with us
- Regular and consistent weekday shifts of minimum 8 hours per day
- Supportive and free training to upskill your portfolio
- Competitive hourly rates based on experience, with penalty rates where applicable
- Work with one stable, long-term client in a consistent environment
- Join a coordinated, well-managed team of carers
