About the Opportunity
Monash Gastroenterology is Victoria’s largest gastroenterology unit, performing around 12,000 endoscopic procedures a year across Clayton, Dandenong and Casey. Our interventional Endoscopy program covers EUS, ERCP, Upper GI Stenting and Endoscopic Mucosal Resection, and it has an active research and audit agenda. We’re looking for an organised, detail-focused data professional to manage our Endoscopy research and audit data. You’ll turn clinical information into reliable evidence that supports research, the interventional endoscopy audit and quality improvement.
What you’ll do:

- Coordinate data collection from clinical systems in line with approved study protocols
- Prepare data extracts, analyses and reports for audits, presentations and publications
- Work with the interventional Endoscopy fellows to coordinate the interventional Endoscopy audit
- Advise clinicians and fellows on data collection, and manage data in line with ethics approvals, research governance and privacy requirements
About You:
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant field (e.g. Health Information Management, Health or Biomedical Science, Data Science, Biostatistics, Epidemiology or Public Health), or equivalent experience
- Experience managing research or clinical data, including database design and maintenance
- Skills in statistical software (e.g. Stata, R or SPSS) and advanced Excel
- Experience supporting health or medical research
- Strong accuracy, organisation and communication skills, and the ability to manage several projects at once
- GCP certification, postgraduate training in biostatistics or research methods, or knowledge of Endoscopy or Gastroenterology (desirable)
What we offer:
- Salary packaging
- The chance to contribute to research in one of Australia’s leading Endoscopy units
- Support for professional development, including conference attendance where funding allows
