Zenviron is seeking an experienced Civil Construction Manager to support the delivery of a major Wind Farm project in the Hunter Region, NSW.
This is a unique opportunity to join a market-leading renewable energy contractor and lead the civil delivery of one of Australia's largest renewable energy projects. Initially based in our Newcastle office, you will support planning, procurement and pre-construction activities before transitioning to site during the construction phase.
We're looking for a practical, hands-on construction leader who enjoys being close to the delivery of works, building strong site teams and driving outcomes in the field. This role will suit candidates who have built their careers within Tier 2 or Tier 3 contractors and have experience taking ownership of complex civil construction packages from mobilisation through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, coordination and execution of all civil construction activities across the project.
- Manage major earthworks, roads, drainage, hardstands, foundations and associated civil infrastructure packages.
- Oversee project resources, construction methodologies and work sequencing to ensure safe and efficient project delivery.
- Lead and mentor supervisors, engineers and subcontractors, fostering a high-performance culture across the project.
- Drive safety, environmental and quality performance across all construction activities.
- Ensure works are delivered in accordance with project specifications, client requirements and project schedules.
- Manage construction productivity, budgets and resource allocation.
- Work closely with engineering, commercial and project management teams to achieve project objectives.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and key project stakeholders.
- Identify and resolve construction challenges while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
What You Will Bring
- Extensive experience in a Construction Manager, Senior Project Manager, Civil Construction Manager or similar leadership role.
- Strong background delivering large-scale civil construction projects involving bulk earthworks, roads, drainage, concrete structures and associated infrastructure.
- Experience working within Tier 2 or Tier 3 contractors, where you've maintained direct involvement in day-to-day project delivery and site leadership.
- Proven ability to manage large workforces, subcontractors and multiple work fronts simultaneously.
- Experience leading self-perform and subcontracted civil construction activities.
- Strong understanding of construction planning, scheduling, productivity and resource management.
- Demonstrated capability managing project budgets, programmes and commercial outcomes.
- Practical and solutions-focused leadership style with a strong field presence.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related qualifications highly regarded.
The Opportunity
This position is ideally suited to candidates based in Newcastle, Hunter Valley, Sydney, Dubbo or the Mid North Coast regions. Preference will be given to candidates who can initially work from the Newcastle office before transitioning to site during project delivery.
The project will operate on a DIDO basis, with camp accommodation provided. A competitive remuneration package will be offered, along with roster arrangements designed to maximise time at home.
