MKW Insurance Brokers is looking for an experienced commercial Account Manager to take ownership of an established SME and mid-market portfolio. You will work predominantly from home, with occasional days in our North Strathfield or Sydney CBD office, so you must live in Sydney or on the Central Coast.

MKW Insurance Brokers is looking for an experienced commercial Account Manager to take ownership of an established SME and mid-market portfolio. You will work predominantly from home, with occasional days in our North Strathfield or Sydney CBD office, so you must live in Sydney or on the Central Coast.

The Role

You will be the trusted point of contact for your clients, managing the full servicing cycle across their insurance program and growing the accounts you look after. You will report directly to the Directors and work closely with our Account Executives and Claims Manager.

• Manage an allocated portfolio of SME and mid-market commercial clients: renewals, endorsements, certificates of currency and day-to-day servicing
• Advise clients across Business Package, Public and Products Liability, Professional Indemnity, Management Liability, Cyber, Commercial Motor, Property and ISR
• Prepare and present renewal reports, quotation reports and coverage comparisons that meet our advice and compliance standards
• Negotiate terms with insurers and underwriting agencies to get the right outcome for the client
• Identify coverage gaps and cross-sell opportunities to strengthen retention and grow accounts
• Support clients through claims with our Claims Manager, keeping clients informed and insurers accountable
• Keep accurate, timely records in our broking and client systems and meet Code of Practice, AFSL and privacy obligations
• Contribute ideas to improve how we work. If something can be done better, we want to hear it

About You

You are an experienced commercial broker who takes ownership of a portfolio, enjoys solving problems for business owners and is comfortable working independently from a home office.

Essential

• Based in Sydney or on the Central Coast, with a suitable home office and the ability to attend the office when required
• Minimum 5 years' general insurance broking experience, including managing a portfolio of commercial accounts
• Tier 1 (Broking) qualification
• Sound technical knowledge of commercial classes, particularly Business Package, Liability, Professional Indemnity, Management Liability and Cyber
• End-to-end experience with renewals, endorsements, insurer negotiations and client coverage requirements
• Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain cover in plain English to business owners
• Strong organisation and the discipline to manage competing renewal deadlines remotely
• Confident with technology and keen to use automation and modern systems to work smarter
• Full working rights in Australia

Highly regarded

• Diploma of Insurance Broking (completed or in progress)
• Experience with Steadfast SCTP and broking systems such as INSIGHT, Sunrise Exchange or OfficeTech/Lucinda
