The Opportunity

Mipac is seeking multiple Control Systems Engineers to join our growing team delivering complex automation and control systems projects across Australia and internationally.

Following the award of several major Greenfields projects and continued growth in our project pipeline, we are expanding our engineering team to support the delivery of large-scale projects across the resources sector.

You will contribute to projects from concept through to commissioning, gaining exposure to control system design, configuration, testing and delivery across the full project lifecycle.

We welcome applications from engineers with experience in mining, energy, water, utilities, manufacturing, oil & gas, and other heavy industrial environments.

This role is suited to engineers with 5+ years of experience who are looking to further develop their technical capability while taking ownership of increasingly complex project deliverables.

You will work alongside experienced engineers and project teams to deliver practical, fit-for-purpose solutions, with opportunities to contribute across design, FATs, commissioning and site-based activities, both domestically and internationally.

This is a hands‐on role where you will build technical expertise, contribute to project delivery, and continue progressing towards more senior engineering responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, configure and test PLC, SCADA and DCS systems.
  • Contribute to the delivery of Greenfields and brownfield control systems projects.
  • Develop control philosophies, functional descriptions and engineering documentation.
  • Participate in factory acceptance testing (FAT), site commissioning and troubleshooting activities.
  • Collaborate with clients, vendors and project teams to deliver practical, fit-for-purpose solutions.
  • Apply structured problem‐solving and engineering judgement to technical challenges.
  • Support the development of engineering standards, quality deliverables and governance requirements.
  • Contribute to project planning, technical reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work effectively within multidisciplinary teams to achieve successful project outcomes.

About You

You are an Engineer who

  • Has 5+ years' experience in industrial control systems, automation, process control, electrical or instrumentation engineering.
  • Has proven experience designing, configuring and troubleshooting PLC, SCADA and/or DCS systems.
  • Has worked within mining, resources, energy, utilities, manufacturing, oil & gas, water or other industrial environments.
  • Enjoys solving complex technical problems and delivering practical engineering solutions.
  • Can work independently while collaborating effectively within project teams.
  • Communicates clearly with colleagues, clients and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates initiative, accountability and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Holds Australian working rights and can travel to client sites as required.
  • Why Mipac

At Mipac, you will work alongside experienced engineers across a range of complex projects and delivery environments.

This provides the opportunity to learn from others, build your technical capability, and gain exposure to different systems, clients and industries.

You'll be supported to develop your skills, take on increasing responsibility, and progress your career—without being limited to a single asset or project environment.
