Minle Negotiants of Australian Wines – Wahroonga NSW
Porter's Liquor Wahroonga is a well-established neighbourhood bottle shop on the Hampden Avenue shopping strip, trusted by locals for good wine and friendly advice. We're looking for a wine-passionate team member to join us part-time and help take our wine offer to the next level.
The Role
This is a part-time role with real scope, built around wine. You'll:
- Help customers find the right bottle, with confident advice on varietals, regions, vintages and food pairing
- Bring ideas to the wine range, pricing and promotions
- Help plan in-store and social media campaigns that grow our local following Keep the store looking its best: displays, merchandising and shelf presentation
- Receive deliveries, move stock and keep shelves and fridges full
- Support the manager with the day-to-day running of a small, close-knit team
- Serve every customer responsibly, in line with RSA and NSW liquor laws
- For the right person, there's a clear pathway to more hours and a full-time role as the store grows.
About You
You love wine and love talking about it. Whether it's Barossa shiraz, Burgundy or a small-batch local producer, you can walk a customer through a region, a vintage or a food match with confidence, and you get a buzz from finding them a bottle they'll come back for.
You're also:
- A self-starter who likes seeing your ideas turn into sales
- Organised, with a sharp eye for detail A natural with people: customers, suppliers and teammates alike
- Keen to build a long-term career in the liquor industry
Requirements
Essential
- Solid wine knowledge: varietals, regions and food pairing
- Current NSW RSA competency card Availability across the full roster, including weekdays, weekends, evenings and public holidays
- Able to lift and move stock regularly
- Current Australian driver's licence
- Full working rights in Australia
- Excellent presentation and customer service skills
Highly regarded
- Previous bottle shop or liquor retail experience
