Why This Role

Whether you're building your public practice foundations or ready to take greater responsibility for clients and team delivery, this growing Business Advisory division offers opportunities at three levels.

Client communication forms part of the work from the Intermediate level, helping accountants understand the businesses behind the financial statements. Experienced colleagues provide guidance as responsibilities expand across technical work, tax planning, advisory support and mentoring.

Paid CA/CPA fees and study leave, monthly development conversations and divisional training support your progress. Advancement reflects individual capability and performance, with opportunities to take on broader responsibilities as you develop.

The Role

Work across a varied portfolio of entrepreneurs, private businesses and complex groups. Your responsibilities will reflect your appointment level.

Intermediate Accountant

  • Preparing financial statements, income tax returns, reconciliations and workpapers
  • Assisting with BAS, IAS, GST and PAYG compliance
  • Communicating with clients to gather information and resolve queries
  • Supporting technical research, tax planning and advisory work
  • Managing allocated tasks with guidance from senior colleagues

Senior Accountant

  • Taking greater ownership of accounting and tax engagements across multiple entity types
  • Preparing financial statements, tax returns and general-purpose financial reports where required
  • Resolving client queries and researching technical matters
  • Contributing to tax planning and advisory engagements
  • Supporting junior accountants through guidance and review feedback
  • Managing workflow, deadlines and progress updates

Supervisor

  • Preparing and reviewing more complex accounting and tax work
  • Supporting client relationships and resolving technical queries
  • Helping coordinate priorities, deadlines and engagement delivery
  • Coaching accountants and providing practical feedback
  • Contributing to advisory work, financial modelling and forecasting where appropriate
  • Working closely with Managers and Directors on client matters and team development

Across all levels, clear communication, accurate documentation and a willingness to improve how work is delivered are important.

What You'll Bring

  • Australian public practice experience in business services, taxation or business advisory
  • A degree in Accounting, Commerce, Business, Finance or a related discipline
  • CA or CPA studies underway, or a completed qualification
  • Technical capability appropriate to your level across financial statements, tax returns and compliance
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and an organised approach to deadlines
  • Interest in understanding clients' businesses and providing practical support
  • A collaborative approach to learning, feedback and teamwork

Senior applicants should be confident managing allocated client work and supporting junior colleagues. Supervisor applicants should bring experience reviewing work, guiding others and coordinating delivery.

Experience with Xero and Microsoft Office will be useful.

What's On Offer

  • Salary aligned with your appointment level and experience
  • Up to two WFH days per week after an initial office-based onboarding period
  • Paid CA/CPA fees and study leave
  • An additional day of leave each year
  • Potential annual variable reward
