THE COMPANY

This is a rare opportunity to join a large-scale, nationally recognised FMCG business at a pivotal transformation point.

With significant capital investment already deployed and further major infrastructure investment planned over the next several years, the NSW operation is entering a new era focused on performance, asset optimisation and operational excellence.

Backed by a global parent organisation, the business is highly metrics-driven, commercially focused and committed to building world‐class capability across safety, quality, service and cost.

The Sydney site is a complex, high-volume operation and plays a critical role within the broader national supply chain.

THE POSITION

Reporting to Executive, the Operations Director will lead end‐to‐end operations for the Sydney site and hold full accountability for NSW performance, including P&L ownership.

This role goes well beyond plant leadership. You will take a holistic supply‐chain view across manufacturing, engineering, quality, sanitation, continuous improvement, logistics and inventory. You will ensure operational delivery aligns with the 3–5 year strategic plan and supports the evolving needs of the commercial and IBP/S&OP process.

Key focus areas

  • Developing and executing the long‐term operational vision for NSW
  • Leading a workforce through a strong safety‐first culture
  • Driving capital execution, infrastructure upgrades and master planning
  • Embedding lean manufacturing and CI disciplines to improve asset performance
  • Owning financial performance including cost control, labour optimisation and budget delivery
  • Partnering with sales, marketing and supply chain to align operational capability with consumer trends
  • Building leadership capability and strengthening succession depth across the site

You will lead a senior team including the Plant/Factory Manager, Engineering Manager, Quality Manager, CI/Operational Excellence Manager and Sanitation Manager, providing the strategic direction and coaching support required to lift overall site capability and performance.

This role requires someone who can seamlessly move between strategic thinking and hands‐on operational leadership, while maintaining a strong focus on measurable outcomes.

SKILLS / EXP

  • Minimum 10+ years senior leadership experience within FMCG or complex industrial manufacturing
  • Proven end‐to‐end supply‐chain understanding including logistics, inventory and IBP/S&OP alignment
  • Strong financial acumen with demonstrated P&L accountability
  • Experience leading large, unionised workforces within highly regulated environments
  • Deep knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Demonstrated success executing large capital projects and infrastructure upgrades
  • Ability to lead cross‐functional teams across engineering, quality and operations
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence at executive level
  • High intellectual capability with strong analytical and problem‐solving skills

BENEFITS

  • Senior leadership opportunity within a major national operation
  • Significant capital investment program to shape and execute
  • Full NSW operational and financial accountability
  • Opportunity to drive large‐scale transformation and cultural uplift
  • Backing of a well‐capitalised global parent organisation
  • Sydney‐based leadership role with genuine long‐term career trajectory
