Seeking an experienced Strategy Analyst to support enterprise planning, workforce strategy, and organisational performance reporting within a large education sector organisation. Working closely with senior leaders, this role will contribute to HR and workforce planning initiatives by translating strategic priorities into actionable plans, providing data-driven insights, and supporting workforce decision-making across the organisation.

A values-driven organisation within the education sector, currently undertaking a significant period of transformation and strategic change. This newly created 12-month opportunity offers the chance to work closely with senior leaders on enterprise-wide strategy initiatives while enjoying a flexible hybrid working model (50% office / 50% work from home), a 70-hour fortnight, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on organisational planning, performance, and workforce priorities.

Description

This is not a traditional reporting or data analyst role. While performance reporting and analytics form part of the remit, the primary focus is on organisational strategy, strategic planning, business transformation, and stakeholder engagement. We are seeking someone who understands how strategy is developed, translated into action, and embedded across a complex organisation.

Reporting to the Head of Enterprise Strategy, who works part-time, the successful candidate will need to be highly proactive, self-directed, and comfortable operating with minimal supervision. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys getting into the thick of complex organisational challenges, navigating ambiguity, and influencing outcomes through strong stakeholder engagement.

The Strategy Analyst is accountable for:

  • Supporting the coordination and administration of strategic and annual planning activities, including governance processes, schedules, planning artefacts, registers and documentation
  • Supporting the development and execution of organisational strategy across the business
  • Preparing and maintaining Balanced Scorecards, dashboards, KPI tracking and performance reporting materials
  • Analysing organisational performance data, reporting metrics and external insights to identify trends, risks and opportunities
  • Conducting environmental scanning, benchmarking and research activities to support strategic planning and decision-making
  • Preparing strategic insight papers, executive briefings, presentations and reporting materials for senior leaders
  • Developing planning and reporting tools, templates and visual resources to improve organisational reporting capability and consistency
  • Monitoring emerging trends, risks and best practice approaches to support continuous improvement
  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders across Legal, Governance & Risk, Finance, Business Optimisation and broader organisational functions
  • Supporting reporting governance, documentation management, quality assurance processes and the ongoing maintenance of planning frameworks
  • Contributing to strategic initiatives arising from organisational transformation and business improvement programs

Profile

This role requires someone who can actively contribute to organisational direction, strategic planning and transformation, not simply report on performance metrics.

The successful candidate will be comfortable operating in ambiguity, building credibility with senior stakeholders, and translating strategic priorities into practical actions and measurable outcomes. They will be naturally proactive, capable of working autonomously, and confident engaging across multiple business functions.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience developing, shaping, implementing or supporting organisational strategy
  • Experience working within complex organisations across human services, healthcare, education, community services, government or not-for-profit sectors
  • Strong strategic thinking, planning and problem-solving capability
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Experience preparing executive reports, strategic papers, briefing documents and board-level materials
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • The ability to work independently, take initiative and progress work with limited direction
  • Experience navigating organisational change, transformation or restructuring environments

Technical Skills

  • Strategic planning and performance management frameworks
  • KPI development, scorecards and reporting
  • Performance analytics and dashboard reporting
  • Google Workspace / G Suite
  • SAP reporting experience highly desirable

Highly Regarded

  • Education sector experience
  • Experience working through organisational transformation, restructure or business change programs
  • Exposure to governance, risk, legal or business optimisation functions
  • Experience supporting enterprise-wide planning and reporting activities

Mandatory Requirements

  • Current Paid Employee Working With Children Check (WWCC)
  • Professional reference checks

Job Offer

What's on Offer?

  • 12-month Contract
  • Full-time position working a 70-hour fortnight
  • Hybrid working model (50% office / 50% WFH)
  • Newly created role with genuine strategic influence
  • Opportunity to support a major organisational transformation program
