Job Description
The Sourcing and Workforce Planning Specialist will be based in Brisbane. Core responsibilities include:
- Partner with capital project leaders to understand project pipelines, schedules, capability requirements and changing labour demand.
- Develop and maintain short-, medium- and long-range labour forecasts across the capital portfolio, including role, trade, location, timing and volume requirements.
- Consolidate project demand into an integrated workforce view to identify peaks, constraints, duplication, mobilisation risks and opportunities to sequence or aggregate requirements.
- Translate labour forecasts into fit-for-purpose sourcing, contracting and supplier engagement strategies.
- Lead key and complex sourcing projects for project labour, professional services, maintenance support and associated capital-project requirements.
- Manage demand with internal stakeholders and suppliers, challenging assumptions where required and supporting prioritisation against project schedules and available market capacity.
- Prepare regular dashboards and reports covering forecast versus actual demand, vacancies, fulfilment, mobilisation, supplier capacity, cost, compliance, risk and emerging constraints.
- The Successful Applicant
A successful Sourcing and Workforce Planning Specialist should have
- A degree in Business, Law, Engineering, Construction, Project Management or a related discipline is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong experience in procurement and contracts across the end-to-end contract lifecycle, ideally supporting capital projects, sustaining capital or major maintenance programs.
- Demonstrated experience in labour forecasting, workforce demand planning, resource planning or contractor workforce management.
- Proven ability to consolidate multiple project demand signals into clear forecasts, dashboards and decision-ready reporting.
- Experience leading sourcing initiatives across labour, professional services, construction, maintenance or project-support categories.
- Strong commercial and analytical capability, including confidence working with workforce, supplier, spend and performance data.
- Strong influencing, stakeholder engagement, negotiation and presentation skills, with the ability to work effectively across project, operational and functional teams.
- Ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and contribute to a collaborative team environment through knowledge sharing and capability uplift.
- Experience working with tier-one multinational companies and suppliers across mining, resources, heavy industry, construction or manufacturing is desirable.
- What's on Offer
This role will be offered on an initial 12 month contract with daily rate commensurate with the role.
