About the Opportunity

Ready to take the lead in a fast-paced, people-focused operation? At Metcash, we're passionate about supporting independent retailers and helping local communities thrive. As our next Store Operations Manager, you'll lead a busy wholesale branch, driving operational excellence, delivering outstanding customer service, and building a safe, high-performing team culture.

Working Hours:

• Core shifts run Monday to Friday, 6:45 AM - 4:30 PM
• One Saturday shift every four weeks, with time in lieu provided the following week

Reporting to the Branch Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring products are delivered in full and on time, leading frontline teams, and identifying opportunities to improve performance, productivity, and customer outcomes. In this Role

• Lead day-to-day branch operations, ensuring exceptional service and DIFOT (Delivered In Full, On Time) performance
• Drive operational, sales, and financial targets while identifying opportunities to improve branch performance
• Coach, mentor, and develop supervisors and team members to build a high-performing, engaged workforce
• Champion a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with WHS, Food Safety, HACCP, and environmental requirements
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and operational partners to deliver outstanding service
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, efficiency, and customer outcomes

• Proven experience leading operational teams
• Strong people leadership, coaching, and performance management skills
• Experience managing budgets, operational performance, and productivity
• Knowledge of warehouse, inventory, or supply chain operations
• Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
