We're working with an organisation based on the western side of Melbourne to find an experienced AV Project Manager for an initial 3-month contract.
The project is a state-of-the-art audio-visual solution. A third-party AV vendor is engaged and has provided the project plan. Your job is to take that plan and deliver it. You’ll coordinate the internal team and the vendor, hold the line on quality through installation and commissioning, and hand over a working, well-documented solution to the IT Ops team.
What you’ll be doing
- Planning, executing and closing out the vendor’s project plan
- Coordinating internal team members and the AV contractor
- Reviewing and interpreting solution designs, schematics and scope of work documents
- Overseeing system testing, calibration and commissioning
- Making sure all work meets industry best practice and the organisation’s requirements
- Identifying and resolving issues and risks early, with corrective action where needed
- Managing change orders, RFIs, as-built drawings and close-out packages
- Running final training and a smooth handover to IT Ops
What you’ll bring
- At least 5 years directly managing commercial AV integration projects
- Strong technical grounding across video conferencing (Zoom, Teams, Cisco), UCC, control systems (Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS), audio DSPs, microphones and loudspeakers, display technologies (LED, LCD, projection) and AV networking (VLANs, QoS)
- A track record of building project plans, managing teams, controlling budgets, and mitigating risk
- High proficiency with MS Project, Smartsheet or AutoTask, plus the MS Office Suite
- Clear communication with technical teams, non-technical stakeholders and senior management
