Driver with customer service role (four days)
Mess Kit Industrial Laundry – Dandenong VIC
This is a permanent part time position working four days a week: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday only. You will be driving a late model automatic Hi Ace to approximately 20-30 customers each day, visiting the same customer base each week. Mess Kit offers customers a weekly workwear pick up and delivery service. You will be taught the rounds until confident. There are occasional new customers and changes but generally the same 20-30 customers each day. Start time is 6:15am from Dandenong South, working 6-8 hours each day.
Key responsibilities
Drive to approximately 20-30 customers each day on assigned routes
Perform weekly pickup and delivery service for customers
Learn and execute the established customer rounds
Lift and handle laundry bags (up to 15-25kg)
Keep customer premises clean and tidy
Refer any issues back to staff in the laundry
Enter men's toilets and men's changing rooms to store and retrieve garments
About you
Must have a current full Australian driver's licence
Must have your own vehicle to get to work as public transport is limited
Must have permanent working rights in Australia
Must be able to work Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
Must be able to start at 6:15am
Must have no existing ailments as the job requires frequent movement getting in and out of the vehicle many times during the day
Must be able to lift and move up to 15-25kg
Must demonstrate a good driving record with no major offences. Calm driving style is useful as all traffic offences are the responsibility of the driver
Basic knowledge of men's clothing would be an advantage
Reliability is the single most important attribute
About us
Mess Kit Industrial Laundry is a small group of six staff who work well as a team and offer a service we are proud of. This position will suit someone looking for these hours as this will not lead to a full time position but it is certainly a long term position for the right candidate. Our previous staff member is retiring after twelve years at the age of 70. We seek someone who is looking for a long term position and this may well be an older applicant.
As no experience is required for this position we will be inundated by people who have not taken the time to read the ad properly.
The position will remain open until early next week. We will not respond to all applicants as we expect hundreds of unsuitable applications however the suitable candidate will be offered the opportunity to go out with our current driver to see if the job is to their liking.
