An established physio practice in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs is looking for a permanent part time Physiotherapist who is comfortable with hands-on MSK work and Pilates. The practice treats movement as part of the treatment, not an add-on. Patients move between one on one physio, Pilates and exercise-based sessions under the same roof, so you can see a patient’s progress through, rather than handing them off after a few visits.
The practice consists of a small, close team of 3 physiotherapists, a myotherapist and around 4 to 5 admin and Pilates class instructors. It is based in a medical centre building, in a busy and well-connected part of the Eastern Suburbs, with an on-site clinic and gym. Patients of all ages and fitness levels are treated, from desk-bound workers and weekend sports players to dancers and older adults.
A mix of treatment options is available in one place: physio, Pilates, exercise-based rehab and small group sessions. Treatment includes hands-on techniques, exercise, acupuncture, shockwave therapy and other modalities, and new physios are upskilled. There are no NDIS clients.
What your days will look like:
- Assessing and treating a broad range of MSK conditions across all ages, including back, neck, shoulder, knee, jaw and headache presentations.
- Managing sports injuries and returning patients to the activities they enjoy.
- Combining manual therapy, exercise prescription and Pilates in the one treatment plan.
- Building your own caseload, and teaching small group Pilates classes (around 2 to 3 per week) once your caseload is established and the team has seen your exercise teaching skills.
- Giving patients clear advice on posture and movement so results last beyond the session.
- Following patients from first assessment through to long term wellbeing.
What we’re looking for:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Physiotherapist (general registration).
- Baseline MSK skills for all types of conditions and all ages.
- Pilates experience (a Pilates qualification is highly regarded).
- Comfortable teaching exercise to small groups.
- A practical, patient-first approach and good communication.
What’s in it for you:
- Permanent part time position of around 28 to 30 hours per week.
- Salary of approximately $82,000 to $86,000 plus super for full time hours, pro rata for part time, depending on experience.
- Bonus in-house CPD courses (valued at around $2,500), with topics such as TMJ, exercise programming and neurofitness.
- A varied caseload, so you won’t be stuck doing the same type of appointment all day.
- The chance to use your Pilates skills in a clinical setting, not just as an add-on.
- No travel, as all work is at the one clinic.
Location: Kensington, Eastern Suburbs, Sydney: close to the university and light rail, with plenty of cafes, parks and beaches nearby.
