About the Opportunity
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) within the Rapid Access Clinic and Urgent Care Service plays a pivotal role in delivering timely assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients presenting with Triage Category 3 and 4 conditions. Referrals are received from a variety of sources, including General Practitioners, community-based health services, pharmacists, NSW Ambulance, Residential Aged Care Facilities (RACFs), outpatient clinics, and the Emergency Department.
Working autonomously within their endorsed scope of practice and collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, the NP provides advanced clinical care for a wide range of presentations, including minor orthopaedic injuries, musculoskeletal conditions, soft tissue injuries, lacerations, wounds, respiratory and urinary tract illnesses, and other low to moderate acuity conditions.

Through advanced clinical decision-making and evidence-based practice, the Nurse Practitioner enhances access to care, reduces unnecessary Emergency Department presentations and hospital admissions, and supports the delivery of the right care, in the right place, at the right time.

- Supervise, mentor and support the development of nursing staff.

- Ensure compliance with NSW legislation, NSW Health policies and National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards.
