About Medical Developments International

Medical Developments International is an Australian company operating in the medical devices and pharmaceutical sector.

Our teams work together to deliver high-quality products and maintain safe, compliant and effective operations.

About the role

Medical Developments International is seeking a Commercial Partnerships Manager to support the negotiation, implementation and governance of international distribution arrangements with contractual partners.

Reporting to the Head of Commercial, the role is responsible for managing internal stakeholders and helping to ensure that international commercial agreements including quality, distribution and pharmacovigilance agreements are commercially viable, operationally executable and compliant with applicable quality, regulatory and governance requirements.

The role is primarily focused on international growth opportunities and supporting the execution and implementation of commercial partnership initiatives.

Subject to business priorities, it may also support major Australian commercial arrangements where additional coordination or commercial input is required.

Operating within a matrix structure, the role supports disciplined decision-making and effective execution across the deal lifecycle in an ASX-listed pharmaceutical and manufacturing organisation.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will

  • support the Head of Commercial in the execution and implementation of international distribution strategies aligned with corporate and portfolio objectives;
  • prepare commercial analyses, partner proposals and internal briefing materials for new and existing international distribution arrangements;
  • facilitate cross-functional input and effective communication across Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Regulatory, Finance, Legal and Commercial teams to support decision-making and execution of contractual arrangements;
  • coordinate internal alignment and readiness across relevant functions throughout the commercial process;
  • manage multiple timelines, dependencies and risks associated with commercial partnership and distribution agreement execution;
  • support post-contract implementation, partner onboarding and transition to operational ownership;
  • support periodic reviews of existing commercial partnerships, including contract renewals, performance considerations and commercial improvement opportunities;
  • monitor market trends, competitor activity and industry developments to inform commercial strategy and partnership opportunities;
  • establish and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders across the organisation, including senior leaders and cross-functional teams;
  • support engagement with external distribution and commercial partners where required;
  • participate in partner governance forums and performance discussions under the direction of the Head of Commercial;
  • identify issues, dependencies and decision points early and elevate them appropriately to support timely execution;
  • support commercial revenue forecasts, pricing assumptions and financial inputs associated with international distribution arrangements;
  • collaborate with operational teams to validate pricing assumptions and reflect distribution conditions;
  • review business-case assumptions, revenue projections and partnership opportunity assessments to assess scope, risk and commercial assumptions, and support the documentation of pricing decisions;
  • operate within approved commercial parameters, budgets and delegations of authority;
  • comply with applicable procedures, work instructions, Standard Operating Procedures and MDI Quality Management System requirements;
  • promptly report relevant exceptions, deviations, customer feedback, product quality complaints and adverse events relating to MDI products;
  • maintain accurate, complete and timely records in accordance with MDI requirements;
  • support activities in accordance with applicable occupational health and safety obligations and MDI policies; and
  • support major Australian commercial arrangements where required, subject to business priorities and direction from the Head of Commercial.

About you

We are looking for someone who is highly organised, solutions-focused and able to work effectively through ambiguity and complex commercial matters.

You will ideally bring

  • a tertiary qualification in business, science, law or a related discipline;
  • strong experience in commercial, partnerships, business development or commercial operations roles;
  • experience supporting international distribution or commercial agreements within pharmaceutical, healthcare or regulated manufacturing environments;
  • an understanding of the pharmaceutical or medical device industry and Good Manufacturing Practices;
  • the ability to manage multiple priorities, inputs and timelines;
  • a solutions-focused approach and the ability to work effectively through ambiguity and “grey areas”;
  • strong attention to detail and disciplined documentation practices;
  • experience working in matrix or complex stakeholder environments;
  • the ability to influence and manage senior cross-functional stakeholders;
  • strong leadership capability and accountability for outcomes;
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • a sound understanding of ASX-listed governance, compliance and reporting requirements; and
  • the ability to balance commercial opportunity with operational, regulatory, quality and contractual risk
  • What success looks like
  • Success in this role will include
  • distribution agreements executed in accordance with approved parameters;
  • minimal execution delays arising from internal misalignment;
  • positive feedback from internal stakeholders on delivery and coordination;
  • compliance with relevant governance and engagement processes;
  • timely identification and escalation of issues and risks;
  • constructive internal and external stakeholder relationships;
  • accurate and high-quality commercial and financial inputs;
  • compliance with financial governance frameworks;
  • compliance with MDI’s Quality Management System and occupational health and safety requirements;
  • accurate, complete and timely documentation; and
  • professional, ethical and accountable conduct aligned with MDI’s values and policies.

What we offer

  • the opportunity to support MDI’s international growth and commercial partnership initiatives;
  • exposure to international distribution arrangements across the commercial deal lifecycle;
  • a collaborative role working with Commercial, Legal, Finance, Quality, Regulatory, Supply Chain and Manufacturing Operations teams;
