O&G Consultant in South Grafton

ME Medical Recruitment is currently recruiting for an Obstetrics and Gynaecology Consultant for a Regional Country City in Northern NSW. The town has a country feel to it in a subtropical climate, experiencing cold winters and hot summers. Situated on a river, this area has a tight-knit community.

The Women’s Care Unit includes a team of midwives, nurses, obstetricians, paediatricians and provides care to women and their families in the immediate and surrounding areas. The team works with GPs, social workers, physiotherapists, Aboriginal Maternal and Infant Health Service (AMIHS) teams and child and family health nurses. It is a Level 4 service, which means they can care for most women and their unborn babies during pregnancy and after birth. At times, they also care for women with gynaecological health problems or surgery.

Where you'll be working: The base Hospital is immersed in the rural community, providing a wide range of accessible healthcare services to the public. This is a level 3/4 facility providing care to over 13,000 inpatients each year and works closely with another District Hospital as well as other hospitals in Northern NSW and tertiary hospitals in Southern Queensland to support the healthcare needs of the community. With a population of approximately 51,300, the area has a well-established healthcare infrastructure and a strong network of community services to support your career needs.

The area connects the regional centre with another historic township and stunning seaside towns. This location is a commercial and professional hub in Northern NSW and is one of the state’s most dynamic and fastest-growing regions. Situated just three hours south of the Gold Coast, two hours south of Byron Bay and one hour north of Coffs Harbour, the hospital is conveniently located and is a 45-minute drive to various beaches. Selection Criteria:

• Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as an O&G Consultant, and/or overseas trained specialist pathway with a substantially comparable outcome with RANZCOG.
• Demonstrated recent clinical experience.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team.
• Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement.
• Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time.
