Position Overview
McDermott Aviation is seeking an Engineering Business Manager to lead the business side of our Engineering function. Reporting to the CEO, you will coordinate budgets, people, planning and resources to support maintenance delivery. Based on the Sunshine Coast, you will work closely with company leadership and global engineering teams to align engineering and maintenance operations with strategic business objectives, deliver operational consistency, improve performance and resolve complex engineering and business challenges.
The role requires strong strategic thinking, hands‑on problem solving, and the ability to operate effectively across regions, cultures, and regulatory environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support engineering teams, setting clear priorities, managing workloads and performance, and supporting training and development.
- Proactively identify emerging operational, engineering, and business risks before they occur, and implement preventative solutions.
- Coordinate maintenance delivery, workforce capacity, parts and supplier requirements.
- Manage engineering budgets, forecasts and major maintenance project costs.
- Provide forward‑looking insights to support business planning, fleet growth, and operational scalability.
- Improve work‑order processes, reporting and business systems.
About You
- Experience in maintenance, or engineering business management. Preferably in Aviation.
- Proven experienced leading teams in a global or multi‑site operation.
- Strong understanding of aircraft fleet management and maintenance environments.
- Demonstrated ability to work closely with senior leadership and functional heads.
- Willing to travel internationally
