MAYDAY is proud to be partnering with a leading national insurance organisation experiencing strong growth across its property claims division. We’re seeking Desktop and On-Road Home Assessors to join a high-performing team managing residential property claims and delivering quality repair outcomes for customers.

Whether you enjoy the flexibility of desktop assessments or prefer the variety of on-road inspections, these opportunities allow you to put your building and construction knowledge to use in a technical, customer-focused role within the insurance industry. These roles are ideal for experienced assessors, estimators, builders or trade professionals looking to build on their technical expertise within a leading national organisation.

About the Roles

You’ll manage home insurance claims from assessment through to resolution, determining the extent of property damage, appropriate repair methods and associated costs. Depending on the role, you’ll conduct virtual desktop assessments or attend properties to inspect damage, assess repair requirements and develop scopes of work.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing residential property damage through desktop tools or on-site inspections
  • Identifying the cause and extent of damage and determining appropriate repair solutions
  • Preparing accurate scopes of work, estimates and repair recommendations
  • Reviewing builder and supplier quotes to ensure quality, accuracy and value
  • Managing claims through the assessment process within agreed timeframes
  • Working collaboratively with builders, repairers, suppliers and internal claims teams
  • Communicating assessment outcomes and providing support to customers throughout the claims journey
  • Ensuring claims decisions and repair recommendations meet quality, compliance and service standards

About You

You’ll bring a solid understanding of residential building practices, repair methods and property damage, along with the ability to make sound technical decisions. You’ll ideally have:

  • Experience in property assessing, building, construction, estimating or a relevant trade
  • An understanding of residential construction methods, materials and repair processes
  • The ability to interpret technical reports, scopes of work and building quotes
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A customer-focused approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • The confidence to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative team

Insurance experience is highly regarded but not essential for candidates with the right technical building or construction background.

Why Consider These Opportunities?

Join a stable, growing national insurer with an established property claims division. Choose a career path aligned with your strengths across desktop or on-road assessing. Access hybrid working options and modern assessment technology, depending on the role. Receive structured training and onboarding to support your transition into insurance. Develop your career through pathways into senior assessing and technical claims positions. Work within a supportive team focused on quality outcomes and continuous development.
