LEVRAM Heavy Diesels is looking for an experienced and reliable Diesel Mechanic / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our growing team. This is a permanent full-time position based in Melbourne's South East, offering a combination of field service and workshop work across Greater Melbourne and surrounding areas.
We're looking for someone with at least 3 years' post-trade experience who is confident diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs and working independently from day one.
About the Role
You'll work on a variety of trucks, trailers and earthmoving machinery, handling everything from routine servicing to complex repairs and on-site breakdowns. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on trucks, trailers and earthmoving machinery
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
- Attending breakdowns on-site and roadside
- Identifying potential mechanical issues before they become major problems
- Completing service records, job cards and compliance documentation
- Coordinating parts, tools and job requirements
- Communicating professionally with customers regarding repairs and progress
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic (Certificate III or equivalent)
- Minimum 3 years' post-trade experience working on trucks or earthmoving machinery
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Experience with engines, driveline, hydraulics, braking and cooling systems
- Confidence working independently, particularly on field service and breakdown jobs
- Current Australian driver's licence (HR or above highly regarded)
- White Card, or willingness to obtain one
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship
- Reliable, self-motivated attitude and good communication skills
