The predicted salary is between 49500 - 60500 $ per year.
Key responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain the integrity of sterilised RMDs and equipment, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Understand infection control principles and best practices in sterilisation.
- Work closely with other departments within the hospital to ensure timely availability of sterile RMDs for surgery and other procedures.
- Work on own initiative, prioritise and manage multiple issues simultaneously and demonstrate attention to detail.
- Identify and sort surgical instruments correctly.
- Inspect instruments for damage, cleanliness and function before sterilisation.
- Wrap and package instruments using appropriate materials (pouches, wrap, tray).
- Operate autoclave, ultrasonic cleaners, washer disinfector and sterilisation tray.
- Use chemical indicators (CIs) and biological indicators (BIs).
- Maintain effective record keeping and compliance with hospital policies and work health and safety.

- Experience in the CSSD environment.
- Good time management and organisational skills, able to balance priorities.
- Effective communication skills with colleagues and patients.
- Understanding of person-centred care, evidence-based practice and quality improvement.
- Ability to work independently and as part of the team.
- Understanding of sterilisation processes and infection control prevention.
- Experience with medical equipment and instruments processes.
- Safe handling of contaminated instruments and hazardous material.
